Australian Native Bee honey contains a rare and naturally occurring sugar profile that is different from other honey's. It's called 'trehalulose' and it has a substantially lower Glycemic Index (GI) than regular honey and is absorbed more slowly into the bloodstream. The lower GI means diabetics don't experience the spike in blood sugar caused by glucose and fructose.
How does Native Bee honey obtain these benefits? Well, it’s probably because native bees make a lot of propolis, or 'bee glue', and it is valuable levels of healing and antibacterial properties that is comparable to Manuka Honey.
Sugarbag honey, as it is sometimes called, has been shown to have substantial germ-killing properties and medicinal properties. Not only this, but it tastes great as well.
